Do you want a job that truly stands out? Here at Kiruna Airport, you will work in a unique environment where technology, safety, and community benefit meet – right in one of Sweden's most spectacular natural settings.
What does the job entail? In this role, you will work at and in aircraft with sorting, loading, and unloading of baggage, freight, and cargo. The work is done both manually and with assistance. You will operate a range of specialized vehicles around the aircraft but will also work with snow removal, including driving a wheel loader. The position also includes basic inspections and maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Before the start of employment, you will undergo a week of paid basic training where the pace is high. We will further educate you during your employment, including in snow removal and to work as an airport firefighter. The job is physically demanding, and in connection with the firefighter training, tests will be conducted that require both strength and endurance.
The employment starts in May, and the schedule involves shift work with a 100% working degree.
Who are you? We are looking for someone who has:
A valid B driver's license
Good knowledge of Swedish and English
Good physical condition to handle the physically demanding tasks
It is an advantage if you have a C driver's license, an interest in vehicles and machinery, and a few years of work experience. As a person, you are meticulous, responsible, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. You enjoy problem-solving, are willing to challenge yourself, and have good teamwork skills.
Our airport is on standby for air ambulance service around the clock, and you must be able to get to and from work at irregular hours, sometimes at short notice.
What do we offer you? We offer you a varied workday where no day is the same. In addition to passenger traffic, we have recurring customers who conduct everything from weather research to testing activities. We are also central to ensuring that healthcare in the Norrbotten region functions.
Did you know that at Swedavia, you receive subsidies for your work commute if you travel by public transport, electric car, bicycle, or together with a colleague? You also have the opportunity to swap vacation pay for days off. We at Swedavia offer wellness grants, and there is also a gym on the airport premises. We have a comprehensive benefits package via Benify with plenty of discounts and offers. You can read more about our benefits on Benefits | About Swedavia.
